Beerjacket releases a new album ‘Health Hour’.

Available on Bandcamp as well as streaming platforms, the nine tracks were written and produced entirely alone at home during lockdown between March until July “with no set idea of what it should or shouldn’t sound like”.

This means that ‘Health Hour’ was very different from what was initially planned for Peter Kelly’s fourth that studio album – scheduled for July and to incorporate string arrangements from Cairn String Quartet following a sold-out show at Celtic Connections in January.

Instead the nine track effort, including single ‘Younger‘, also differs greatly from its predecessor, 2018’s ‘Silver Cords‘ – on Scottish Fiction Records, that release came packaged as a book of short stories, and led to an appearance at the Edinburgh International Book Festival and radio play from BBC Radio 6 Music and KEXP.

Having begun life as an acoustic home-recording project, Beerjacket has opened for The National, St Vincent, Kristin Hersh, Joan As Police Woman, Feist, Mogwai, Bat For Lashes and Frightened Rabbit.

Previously releases include debut long-player’The White Feather Trail’ in 2011 and its follow-up, ‘Darling Darkness‘, in 2014.
