It’s a collaboration with London-based musician Sam Wray, based on an old jam with the multi-instrumentalist the former Carvelles frontman met while living down south.
Wray picks up piano on the track with McQueen on bass and percussion, while both musicians add guitar and vocals on the co-written tune.
The pair completed the writing of the song over Zoom during the lockdown and then recorded their separate parts at home (McQueen in Dalkeith and Wray in London) – “(It) feels like a bit of a feat now we’ve completed it,” the Edinburgh-based singer-songwriter says.
The follow-up to November single ‘Midnight Mona‘, ‘Another Thing’ is McQueen’s fourth release of 2020, following ‘Down Slowly’, and his solo debut ‘Bask Away’.
