Alistair Quietsch releases an EP, ‘Cutting Room Floor’.
The ten tracks are the first from his solo project to get an online release, following various output from his time as the fourth member of experimental string band Mhenwhar Huws as well as one half of studio project Public Spaces.
The EP – which rather stretches the definition, clicking in at just shy of one hour- is a collection of tracks recorded in his studio space at Glasgow’s Kinningpark Complex over the past year.
All the tracks – the results of experiments with double bass, drum machines, found sound, percussion and drones/ambient sound – were written by Quietsch, with John Magill from Mhenwhar Huws plus William Sims making instrumental contributions.
