Glasgow’s Bloc has three nights of local acts this week under the banner Slowfest – Admiral Fallow’s Louis Abbott (aka Paco Luna), Blue Sky Archives & Friends In America play on Monday 17th; Frightened Rabbit’s Scott Hutchison (aka Owl John), Kitty The Lion, This Silent Forest & Prehistoric Friends are there on Tuesday 18, and Three Blind Wolves & Fatherson on are Wednesday 19th.

Also on Wednesday 19th, Alasdair Roberts is at the Gad Cafe on Glasgow’s southside / Shawlands.

Stanley Odd, Tango In The Attic, Finding Albert, The Deadline Shakes and The Featherman have made The Big Apple Award shortlist with the winner winner supporting The View at New York’s Bowery Ballroom on April 7. All five will play Glasgow’s G2 on Wednesday December 19 in a free show.

And near-ish Edinburgh on Thursday 20th, Last Battle and Carter Damn will be performing with DJ Ed Jupp, er, DJing, at Dalkeith Arts Centre.

In Dundee on Thursday 20th, bit of a double (triple) whammy – The Proclaimers, with Blueflint, are at the Caird Hall. While The View are down the road and along a bit, at the Reading Rooms.

The Rezillos are at Beat Generator Live on Saturday 22nd – but also at home in Edinburgh, at the Liquid Room, on Friday 21st.

Kid Canaveral host the now annual Christmas Baubles III extravaganza at Edinburgh’s Caves on Saturday December 22. Malcolm Middleton, King Creosote, RM Hubbert and Meursault are among the acts that you’ll not be able to see if you’ve not already bought a ticket, as it has completely sold out. Why we’re we’re telling you this I’m not really sure…

Netsounds Unsigned again Takeover Mad Hatters in Inverness on Saturday 22nd December- this Xmas edition of the monthly event features Kitty The Lion and Finding Albert.

Sunday 23rd sees Popup resurface after some sort of hiatus – they’re at the Admiral in Glasgow on Sunday. Beware though, it’s an all-dayer run by Hijacked Records, so while they might be headlining in the evening, who can say for sure?
