Edinburgh’s Hidden Door Festival has announced its lineup for the 2016 incarnation of the event, which will take place from 27th May to 4th June at the disused street lighting depot behind King’s Stables Road.

Among the 35 music acts announced for ‘Hidden Door Electric City’ are Teleman, Jane Weaver Meilyr Jones, NZCA Lines and Rival Consoles plus Bossy Love, Apostile, The Wave Pictures, Babe, Jonnie Common, and Rozi Plain.

There will also be performances from 50 visual artists, 15 theatre companies, 20 poets and 12 film organisations.

Included in the visual arts category is sculptor Heather Lander, and a theatre production of Walden by Magnetic North Theatre Company.
There’s also poetry including Ron Butlin – the former Edinburgh Makar from whose poem ‘The Electric City of Heck’ the festival gets its theme.

The festival opens at 6pm on Friday 27th May. Doors open at 12 every other day and admission is free until 6pm when tickets are available to buy. Tickets can be purchased from http://hiddendoorblog.org
