Malian musician Yacouba Sissoko releases his debut solo album ‘Ti Mangala Ki’, on Electric Honey.
The label, based at Glasgow Kelvin College and famed for its past releases of the likes of Belle and Sebastan dna Biffy Clyro, have entered into a UK-Mali Cultural Programme via its Music Business Management course.

Sissoko has previously worked with many of his country’s better-known such as Toumani Diabate, Bassekou Kouyate and Ballake Sissoko, as well as international stars like Damon Albarn and Bjork.

The musician will make a trip to Scotland in December 2015, leading a music workshop which will take place at Glasgow Kelvin College City Campus on Wednesday 9th December at 2pm with a further live performance that evening at the Hidden Lane Gallery at 1081 Argyle St. Sissoko will be accompanied by Mali-based Scots musician Mark Mulholland, as well as former dEUS guitarist Craig Ward and Belgian double bass player Hannes d’Hoine.
