radio
In lieu of live radio, BBC Radio Scotland has a new series, When Scotland Rock And Ruled. That’s taking place weekly on Fridays at 12:00 noon. Part 2 is this week, but if you missed the first episode (with the likes of Josef K, Jim Kerr, Danny Wilson etc) you can listen again

And we said there was no live radio, but we lied… Nicola Meighan hosts Planet Pop on Thursday 16th at 4pm, with Kathryn Joseph chatting about her musical influences.

As we say, regular radio is in a bit of abeyance, but you can’t move for their natural successor – listening parties.

Tim Burgess is already the pioneer of these with one featuring The Twilight Sad on Friday 17th at 9pm – on twitter @Tim_Burgess – #timstwitterlisteningparty. Intriguingly, this doesn’t feature any one album from the band…

Before that however, Spare Snare continue their regular Monday night sessions with a dissection of ‘Our Jazz’ on Monday 13th at 8pm, with members of the band chipping in track-by-track.

And The Wendys‘s 1991 debut for Factory Records, ‘Gobbledygook’, gets the listening treatment, on Wednesday 15th, at 8pm – join Ian White at @the_wendys Twitter page

TV
BBC Alba has a new series of music show ALT. The first episode of the Gaelic-language programme is already available to watch online with Idlewild, Tamzene, and Sacred Paws filmed live at Glasgow’s QMU.
This week’s show, on Alba at 9pm on Saturday 18th April, features Declan Welsh and the Decadent West.
