Can you wait for the weekend? Well, Thursday at least which is when things kick off gig-wise.
We Were Promised Jetpacks are out and about, playing The Venue Dumfries on Thurs, before moving onto Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Friday, and then PJ Molloys (Dunfermline) on Saturday).
Back to Friday for a second – bearded bluesman Dave Arcari plays Buskers in Dundee while in Edinburgh, Feck Art Let’s Dance are at the Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh (the Germans play Glasgow’s Record factory on Saturday).
That’s not all that’s on in Glasgow on Saturday – the re-emerged Dumb Instrument are at Oran Mor with a new album to plug, apparently, while So Many Animal Calls play another mystery venue, the Tempo Tea Bar.
In Aberdeen, Indianredlopez have a hometown show at the Lemon Tree, while in the capital, WozniakWozniak are at Edinburgh Opium Sat 28
If Saturday seems busy, try Sunday for size – in Embra, former Goodbye Mr Mackensie mainman Martin Metcalfe, with band the Fornicators are at the Voodoo Rooms, while Scots-Greek ensemble The Occasional Flickers play Sneaky Pete’s. Bill Wells and his National Jazz Trio of Scotland hit the Southside for a show at the Glad Cafe, and finally (phew), The Vaselines headline an all-dayer at Oran Mor
