Penetration Original UK punks Penetration, fronted by Pauline Murray, play at Glasgow’s Stereo on Saturday 24th April. Probably one of the more underrated acts from the late 70s, their intelligent rebellion and slight ‘rock’ tendencies did make the band a cult favourite, so their reformation last year was eagerly anticipated. Those who saw them at Wickerman were not disappointed! Support comes from The Cathode Ray.

Also this week, on Wednesday 21st at Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s – a big and impressive lineup, with headliners in the tunefully ambient soundtracks of Sweden’s Library Tapes, with support from Dan Arborise, Woodchucker, Yusuf Azak and Euan McMeeken. Sneaky’s is a pretty wee venue as you may know, so if you fear a sellout, advance tix are available here

Finally in this triple whammy, at the Slow Club on Sunday 25th, Jer Reid (Dawson) and Fanny Ampism (Bolide Awkwardstra, Weirding Vessel, Blood Stereo etc) will be playing along live to Jean Vigo’s Zero de Conduit (Zero for Conduct)

The Slow Club is a regular night of music, film and whatever else instigated by Craig Tannock and Smackvan that takes place in the kitchen of the Flying Duck from 8pm. Ideal weekend wind-down.
