Fell release a new single, ‘For The Pickling’, on Lost Map.

Part of the Eigg label’s Postmap series of ‘Postcard singles’ (which come with a download code), the tune is accompanied with a remix of the song by Mechanical Owl. Following its ‘exclusive’ members-only release, it is available to stream and download via lostmap.com.

Fell is the pseudonym of Blackpool-born Nicolas Burrows, whose musical career began in the early 2000s Leeds scene (Crayon, All My Friends Are Dead, Vest For Tysso, Bear Driver, Super Eight), before working under the name Glaciers.

In 2016 he took up the name Fell, recording ‘There Still Are Mysteries’, with Stereolab’s Andy Ramsay producing.

The new EP stems from PRS/pledgemusic Emerging Artist Fund which he used to produce 3 videos, and a new 5-track EP, including lead single and title track ’For The Pickling’.

Produced by Dan Blackett (of Bella Union signings, Landshapes) the EP features guest accompaniment from Blackett’s bandmates Luisa Gerstein and Heloise Tunstall-Behrens, plus vocals from Song, By Toad act David Thomas Broughton.

Fell plays as part of Lost Map’s Sunday Social in Paisley on October 13th – at the Arts Centre, with The Pictish Trail doing a solo slot alongside Callum Easter, and Molly Linden.
