Malcolm Middleton releases, in his Human Don’t Be Angry guise, an EP for free download – well, ‘name your price’ if you’re feeling flush.

Entitled ‘(A Prelude)’, the three-track effort does indeed act as a taster for the forthcoming largely instrumental long-player, entitled ‘Guitar Variations’.

The tunes on the release, which can also be streamed via Spotify if that’s your thing, – ‘Loved By A Planet’, ‘June Garden’ and ‘Tip Toes’ – were originally intended for the second HDBA album, but as Middleton says, would have pushed the release into a double vinyl release “and nobody wants that”.

Like the album’s nine tunes, the three free tracks were recorded at Dramatic Ironing Studios in Middleton’s adopted hometown of Anstruther last April, and then mixed and mastered by Paul Savage at Chem 19.

The Arab Strap guitarist also has a live date planned for next month, as part of the on October 19th, Spree Festival in Paisley.
