Glasgow-based acts Wojtek the Bear and Wet Look are among the acts newly confirmed to perform at Belle and Sebastian’s water-bound Boaty Weekender.

The bands join Stuart Murdoch and crew on their four-day “floating festival and luxury cruise around the Mediterranean”, where the seminal indie act will perform 2000’s album ‘Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant’ in full for the first time, and press a special vinyl reissue of the seminal release, for attendees only.

Welsh act Campfire Social also gained their passes for the cruise via the Battle For Boaty competition which as well as allowing them to perform on the cruise, will also see them rub shoulders and ship legs with Mogwai, Django Django, Camera Obscura, Yo La Tengo, Honeyblood, The Vaselines and Buzzcocks.

The Boaty Weekender – named after the B&S-instigated ‘Bowlie Weekender’ festivals which became a regular fixture in the less-salubrious surroundings of a Butlins holiday camp – will take place from August 8 – 12, 2019, sailing from Barcelona to Cagliari in Sardinia before making the return journey to Spain.
