The 33rd Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival has a tiny smattering of indie-schmindie content, if you screw up your eyes and squint at the programme. Running from Friday 22 July to Sunday 31 July it will indlude names such as Jack Bruce, Courtney Pine, Robert Cray and Trombone Shorty as well as tributes to Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto, and Louis Armstrong. There are also, as you might expect, local and upcoming acts including Discordian Trio, John Fleming Quartet, Bink, Haftor Medboe, and Konrad Wiszniewski. The latter was once in the Amphetameanines with memebers of Franz Ferdinand and Belle and Sebastian.
Told you it was a slow news week.
