Edinburgh multi-venue city festival The Great Eastern will finally make its debut in the capital, on Saturday 27 November 2021.

The east coast sister event to The Great Western – which took place in in Glasgow in November 2019 – had originally been scheduled to take place on May 9th 2020.

However, with the country in the grip of the Covid pandemic, organisers postponed the six-venue all-dayer, only now being able to confirm the new date.

Many of the acts booked for the original festival, including Beak>, BC Camplight, Broken Records, and Free Love, have been confirmed for the rearranged version, with all tickets for the original date remaining valid.

Also on the bill in November will be Hamish Hawk, Wrest, The Ninth Wave, junodream, One True Pairing, Calva Louise, and Strange Bones, as well as many many more.

Unlike the sprawling Great Western (its next date still to be confirmed), the scaled-down Edinburgh version – named after the seminal Delgados album – will focus on six venues centred around the Queen’s Hall, the nearby King’s Hall, and four stages in the Summerhall complex.
