Musicians in the Stirling area can take advantage of a series of free classes provided by the council’s Culture Stirling arm.

As well as trad and jazz programmes, there are two of interest to indie-schmindie types:

Pump Up The Jam : indie/rock/alternative songwriting workshop, all geared towards making a recording and a full live performance in the venue. Running on Wednesdays, from 4.45-7.15pm, the eight week course starts Wednesday October 18th.

City Music Project : a band workshop led by professional musicians where you can improve on your instrument and gain first experience at playing and writing in a band. The course also covers home studio recording. Free, anyone interested can simply drop in – running from 7-9pm, it starts Friday 20th October.
