The Scribbler’s Picnic festival, which has expanded to the entire weekend of 17th – 19th June, has announced its musical lineup.
At Stirling Rugby Club (as ever), there are five stages including a selection of local talent on the Tolbooth Stage:
Breaking the Silence, Polar Point, F.R.A.N.K., Forgetting Yesterday, Upon Our Mistakes, Little Men and Her, Defining Affinity, Nick, Lost in Echoes
Good Vibrations Dance Room: Centre City Soul Club, Phreak Unique, Jelly Roll Soul

There’s also the Random Rhythms Rock Tent with:
Ragged Edge, Bloodstone, Thee Zu, Bad Elephant, Pagan Priests, Savage Rejects, The Media Whores, The Underdogs, Colony, Sleeper Train

The Fubar Main Stage has Absolute Elvis starring Johnny Lee Memphis, The Boogie Brothers, Trossachs Ceilidh Band, Heart Of Scotland Choir, Bury The Hobbit, Stageworx, Yet Another Tonto, Ballroom Gits, The Mix Ups, The Rising (Bruce Springsteen tribute act), Box O Bananas, Lewis Hamilton Blues Band, There’s also dance on the Scotmid Performance Stage, and an Acoustic Cafe.

In a first for the organisers, they are also staging The Scribbler’s Weekender – a weekend of music on the 17th and 18th of June leading up to the main Picnic on Sunday 19th. Venues already signed up to stage live music events and fundraise include The Fubar, The Crooked Arm, Cape and McQs (hosted by Bulge Promotions), The Albion, The Westerton, Drouthy Neebors, No. 2 Baker Street and Crema Central Cafe. There will also be musicians playing at the bottom of King Street to entertain the crowds on Saturday, June 18th.

When the music stops at the rugby club, festival goers can party on and enjoy the music at The Crooked Arm in Bridge Of Allan and No 2 Baker Street.

Proceeds from the entire weekend will be donated to the Children’s Hospice Association, Maggie’s Centre Glasgow, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Strathcarron Hospice., all in keeping wit the event’s history, which has helped to raise more than £100,000 since it started as a small memorial concert in 2001, for local musician, teacher and writer Graham Whitelaw.
