You Tell Me release their debut, self-titled long player, via Memphis Industries.
The label, run by brothers Ollie and Matt Jacob, is the regular home to Sunderland combo Field Music, and You Tell Me is the joint project of the band’s Peter Brewis, alongside Sarah Hayes of Admiral Fallow.
The duo’s “sort of dual-personal record” comes following the two meeting at the Kate Bush tribute concert ‘Running Up That Hill’, organised by Emma Pollock and which took place in Aberdeen in 2016. (Read more in the interview at scotsman.com)
The two found they had a shared interest in music and kept in touch before eventually working on songs which Hayes had been working on outwith her position in Admiral Fallow.
As well as a small series of in-stores (Glasgow Monorail on January 18th, and Edinburgh and Dundee branches of Assai the following day), You Tell Me have a show at Celtic Connections, which will see Hayes make a return to the folk festival, at which she has previously appeared in her own right.
The duo, plus band, play Glasgow’s CCA on February 2nd.
