The Wiseacres – a C86-era five-piece Scots act signed to Cherry Red before splitting in 1988 – have reformed to release a retrospective album.
The original members regrouped 25 years later for ‘unfinished business”, recording material not recorded at the time. They did put out 2 EPs, featured by John Peel and Janice Long. at the time, and the second of which was a Melody Maker Single of the Week.
The original lineup – Sharon Bain – lead vocals, John White – guitar and backing vocals, Robert Mitchell – bass, keyboards and backing vocals, Neil McInnes – bass and guitar and Jim Ramsay – drums – appear at Paisley’s Bungalow Bar (now on Shuttle Street) for the CD launch on Saturday 8th February, with support from Victims of Ventriloquism.
