Gaelic electronica duo Whyterelease a new album, ‘Tairm’.

With a title that can be translated as either translated as ‘echo’ or ‘gathering summons’, the 13-track long-player is the follow-up to 2016 debut ‘Fairich’.

The new album features seven new Gaelic songs as well as four new arrangements of traditional pieces, and two new instrumental compositions, featuring original and traditional spoken word.

The duo are Aberdeenshire electronic composer, musician and Scottish Album of the Year-longlisted Ross Whyte, and Mull-based Gaelic singer, songwriter and twice-nominated Hands Up for Trad Gaelic Singer of the Year Alasdair C. Whyte.

Also guesting on the album are: Màrtainn Skene (cello); Una MacGlone (double bass); Eilon Morris (percussion); Megan Riona Whyte, Hector MacKechnie & Riona Whyte (vocals); & Martin Low (guitar).

The first single from the record, title track ‘Tairm’, represented Alba/Scotland at the Liet International 2018 XXL international new song competition in Friesland.
