Vulture Party release a new single, ‘Afterlife’.
It’s the first new material from the band – Louise Ward, David King, and Dickson Telfer – since their self-titled debut album from April 2020.
Recorded, mixed and mastered at Homegrown Productions with programming by James Anderson Taylor, it’s the first taster of the band’s second album, due out next spring on Last Night From Glasgow.
Describing the single as having “a bit of a poppier vibe”, the Falkirk-act cite influences from the likes of Talking Heads, The Human League, Sault, Eurythmics, and LCD Soundsystem.
However, while admitting that the lyrics could be interpreted as being bleak, lyricist David King describes the track as “a light-hearted and playful contemplation of a life after death.”
‘Afterlife’ is available to download or stream now.
