This week it’s all about the weekend gigs-wise, so brace yourselves, and spend the first few days resting up…
Indian Red Lopez play a hometown show, at Aberdeen Tunnels, on Thursday 29th.
English act Fallacies are on tour with Gates, an ambient-post rock band from New Jersey (featuring ex-members of Lydia / Bears and Bright Lights). You can hear them below, and they sound good, but we’re just impressed that their Scottish tour lists Edinburgh 26th, Aberdeen 27th, Dundee 28th, THURSO 29th, and if they survive the journey bank, Glasgow on the 30th.

Friday aso sees, in Glasgow, the last ever Pinup Nights. ‘Game Over’ takes place at the Flying Duck and has live sets from Miaoux Miaoux and Sonny Marvello, as well as unplugged performances from The Twilight Sad, Malcolm Middelton and Emma Pollock. Plus the usual fun and games and guest DJs who will probably not include Jarvis Cocker. Tix here
And just down the road, The Just Joans launch their album at Heavenly – vegan food and the Hector Collectors also on the bill.
Friday in Edinburgh is Messfest – at the HMV Picturehouse, this charity event in aid of Myeloma UK is a five-band-bill including Jakil, Bwani Junction, Six Storeys High, People, Places, Maps, and Hold The Suspect
And same city, the night after – Panda Su plays at The Third Door on Saturday
The Plimptons launch their Cynical and Bloated (that’s the title) album on Saturday night, at Stereo. We Are The Physics and Girobabies provide able and wiling backup.
Finally, almost – Carnivores are at Sneaky Pete’s on Sunday night. Or, if you’re in Aberdeen, Vukovi are at Aberdeen’s Tunnels.
