Usurper release a split (personality) album, as they launch a new incarnation of themselves, named Not Usurper.

The Edinburgh duo – Ali Robertson and Malcy Duff – have recorded music /noise under the Usurper banner for close on two decades.

However, the pair have announced that ‘new’ act Not Usurper “isn’t Ali Robertson and Malcy Duff”. Whatever, they make their debut on a self-titled split album, which as well as their 17 minute track ‘(Not) Wrong, also contains a new recording, ‘Right’, from old band Usurper.

Mastered by Oliver Barrett, ‘Not Usurper / Usurper’ is available as a download via Cafe Oto.

Robertson has also teamed up with Firas Khnaisser and Armin Sturm for a cassette album on Beartown Records, entitled ‘Khnaisser, Robertson & Sturm Are OUT’.

And the duo of Khnaisser and Robertson release two other albums – ‘Inspiring Capital‘ on the Takuroku label, and ‘Midlife Pandemics‘, via Chocolate Monk.
