The speediest of roundups given it’s Tuesday – first, a welcome return as Wowtown resident Thomas Truax hits Scotland, and on Thursday 4th he’s in Edinburgh, at a secret mystery location (well,a mystery to us anyway). Check www.thomastruax.com, I guess… he takes Sister Spinster and the Hornicator to Lemon Tree on Friday 5th, then to Inverness’s Market bar on Sunday (7th)

Dearie me, Thursday is a busy evening in Glasgow. Deep breath: The Birthday Suit are at King Tuts; Field Music at Oran Mor, Wintersleep are at Sleazys, and Paws are at the CCA.
Deacon Blue resurrect themselves, for shows at Dundee’s Caird Hall on Thu 4th at Aberdeen Music Hall on the 6th
And in Aberdeen former Strangler Hugh Cornwell is on at the Lemon Tree on the 4th – he’s also at Glasgow’s Arches on Friday 5th.

Threads of Sound, a most reliable gig promoter and music vendor, bring some ska – as they admit themselves that the mere word is enough to send shivers up the spine. However, Esperenza, Capone and the Bullets and Joe Viberto could convert some doubters, ay Stereo on Friday,
Friday also sees Shonen Knife at Oran Mor, while The Pictish Trail is at Paisley Arts Centre.
Punk legend TV Smith is at Edinburgh’s Citrus Club on Friday 5th. The former Adverts frontman is highly recommended live. By us.
Less a gig, more a playback, but it is The Twilight Sad‘s new album of remixes. At the Electric Circus in Edinburgh, on Friday night.
And in Inverness at Ironworks, Treacherous Orchestra are on Friday and Saturday (apparently)

Saturday 6th sees Interesting Music bring enfant electronique Miaoux Miaoux to Aberdeen – at the Tunnels, he’s supported by Hysterical Injury and Autumn Hang.
Also on Saturday, A Band Called Quinn are at Glasgow’s Arches .

All this and Reloaded in Stirling, Eastern Promise at Platform in Easterhouse and The Littlest Album‘s launch at Sleazy’s, all on Friday / Saturday.

And Glasgow has all (the best) gigs on Sunday: including Ultravox at the Armadillo, and Funeral Suits at Sleazy’s. Though Fatherson are in Dundee, at the Doghouse.

That’s your lot. Go, go.
