Edinburgh-based four-piece The Wynd have released an album, Follow the Crows.
The 10-track release, available as a download, follows up an EP entitled ‘The Lighthouse Sessions’ which came out in 2006.
The self-styled “Least Hardworking Band in Showbusiness” – a well-deserved epithet it seems – formed as a duo of Rod MacNeil (guitars) and Chris McCall (vocals), but since their debut EP have been joined by Marvels drummer Andy Fleming, and bassist Adam Knight.
The new album was recorded in Lorne Street, Leith, and Newtongrange, Midlothian, over several months in 2009 and 2010, produced by Sandy Bourner. Their roots in the Edinburgh area are emphasised by the artwork whichaccompanies the release, being a depiction of Leith’s shore by Colombian artist Ana Maria Estrada. The band’s name, meanwhile, could refer to any number of streets in the capital.
