Veteran folk-punk garage popsters (now there’s a genre) The Thanes release a 7″ single, ‘She’s Coming Back To Me’.

The self-penned lead track is backed by ‘Love Is Fading Away’, originally recorded by The Poets in 1965, but not released commercially until 30 years later. The Thanes’ version stands as a tribute to Poets’ founder, lead singer and songwriter George Gallacher – although it was recorded before his death in August 2012. (Between 2010-2012 The Thanes basically existed as The Poets, performing with George Gallacher and guitarist Fraser Watson).

The band – still helmed by Lenny Helsing and now with Angus McPake (12-string guitar / organ / vocals), Mark Hunter (bass / vocals) and Mike Goodwin (drums)- recorded the tracks at McPake’s self-built Ravencraig studio complex in Edinburgh, is available on 70g vinyl.
