The Sundancer releases a new EP, ‘One Way Traffic’.

The latest work of the alter ego of Kilmarnock-based musician Paul J Brunton, there are four tunes on the collection – as well as the title track, it includes ‘Solitary Daze’, ‘Whisky Trail’ and ‘Tarot For Gamblers’.

It follows the 2019 single ‘Planet Ur-Th‘ and previous long-player ‘5 Miles To Sunrise’.

Before the current pandemic situation Brunton constantly toured Scotland, playing venues and festivals including King Tut’s, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Wickerman, Celtic Connections, Palace Theatre, Edinburgh Festival and Perth Amber.

The Sundancer’s music has also been used to soundtrack films – ‘Surrender’ from the ‘Out Of The Woods’ EP was used in ‘The Man By The Side of The Road’ which premiered at the Palms Springs International Film Festival, and ‘Why Yes, Why No?’ was part of the Yes campaign in the Scottish Referendum.

Former Teardrop Explodes frontman Julian Cope said of a previous release: “I really dig The Sundancer… (He) has that ever-increasing loose acoustic soul groove found on the first Dino Valente LP or maybe the first two Stephen Stills albums…”
