The Skinner Group release a single, ‘Here Comes Cindy’.
The band are the current incarnation of Scottish music scene veteran Grahame Skinner, who joined the Jazzateers in 1983 when they left Postcard Records to sign to Rough Trade, but in time to record debut single ‘Show Me The Door’ and the eponymously titled ‘Jazzateers’ album.
(The band split and regrouped as Bourgie Bourgie, with Paul Quinn on vocals).

Skinner then joined Hipsway, releasing an album which sold over 500,000 copies worldwide.
The band then signed to Hamburg-based indie Marina Records and made a couple of albums – ‘Life as a Dog’ in 1995 and 1996’s ‘Love is Dead’ under the moniker Cowboy Mouth.

There then followed an extended hiatus, before the singer, apparently taking inspiration from hearing Aidan Moffat & Bill Well’s opus ‘The Copper Top’, pproduced new material which coincided roughly with Creeping Bent’s reissue of the aforementioned Jazzateers LP and subsequent reformation for shows with Vic Godard and Lloyd Cole & The Leopards.

Which brings up to date (phew!) with album Back On The Horse out now. The band play Oran Mor in Glasgow on Friday 16th May.
