I may be the end of the Edinburgh and/or musical season, but it looks like the gig guide is a wee bit sparse this week. Still, we press on regardless…

Firstly, Tuesday night sees The Rutles – the band who taught Oasis everything they know – at Edinburgh’s Liquid Room.

On Thursday, local lad made good David Byrne is at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall. He’s with St Vincent, by the way, so maybe not a full-on Talking Heads-fest.

On Friday 230th, local act Earths play their debut gig, at Glasgow’s Nice’n’Sleazy. Go along and see some new stars in the making (possibly)

On Saturday 30th, it’s the Creeping Ivies at Kirkcaldy’s Windsor Hotel. Or, in the capital, eagleowl are at Henry’s Cellar in Edinburgh.

Finally, as part of our mission to bring you gig news from around the country, on Sunday Ben E King is at the DG One Centre in Dumfries. And that might be as good as you’ve had in that rough area since Wickerman. (Oh, Mr K was in Dunfermline the night before, Thursday).
