The Quilter releases a new single ‘Nothing To Lose’.

Available to stream or download, the track is taken from a forthcoming debut EP, due in Autumn 2020.

The brainchild of Glasgow-based musician Stuart Dougan, there have been three previous singles released under The Quilter moniker – ‘December’, ‘Back From The Dead’ and ‘I Promise That I Really Tried’.

Previously a member of French Wives and Smash Williams, Dougan is solely responsible for all writing and instrumentation on the new release, although he enlisted Paul Gallagher on production duties.

The Quilter’s live debut took place at Glasgow’s Hug & Pint, followed by pre-pandemic support slots with William Doyle and Sorry, and there are plans to film a live session once lockdown has been relaxed.

Of the single, Dougan says: “It’s a song that touches on themes of isolation and overcoming periods of anxious uncertainty, so whilst it was written long before the world was plunged into its current pandemic purgatory, it does feel quite fitting to release it during a time when so many are facing these challenges.”
