The Polychromes release a new self-titled EP, available as a download via bandcamp

A collaborative lockdown project between Adam Ross (Randolph’s Leap) and Gareth Perrie (The Smart Set, Lenzie Moss), the four tracks – ‘Going Offline’, ‘Augmented Reality’, ‘My Digital Heartbeat’ and ‘Talking In Technicolour’ – were co-written and recorded with Ross based in Aberdeenshire and Perrie in Clackmannanshire before being mastered by Jon Huxtable at Smallfish Recordings.

Ideas and recordings were sent back and forth via the internet and songs were built up over several weeks, while the songwriting process was collaborative and experimental with the pair suggesting each other song titles before working backwards to write lyrics.

Musically, the duo claim inspiration from the likes of Edwyn Collins, The Divine Comedy and Sparks, while lyrically, they “share the theme of digital technology and its impact on our lives.”

There’s more on the project at thepolychromes.bandcamp.com, as well as a video for lead single, Augmented Reality’.
