The Martial Arts release a new EP, ‘Getting Stranger By The Month’.

The five tracks include lead single ‘Bethany’; plus ‘Guilt By Association’; ‘Getting Stranger’ – featuring Sean (Oliver Wood in Harry Potter) Biggerstaff; ‘Nicechap’, which has Carla J Easton and Laura Hickli on backing vocals (plus Biggerstaff again, on handclaps); and ‘The Wild Humdrum’.

The new EP – available on CD via Last Night From Glasgow – comes almost two years after the release of the EP ‘I Used To Be The Martial Arts’, launched live as a five-piece containing members of TeenCanteen, Trembling Bells and Nevada Base.

However, the gap between releases is positively tiny compared with the gap since debut album ‘Your Sinclair’, released in 2006.

The Martial Arts is the brainchild of Paul Kelly of BMX Bandits / Carla J Easton / The Primary 5 / Ette / Radiophonic Tuckshop / How to Swim / The Hector Collectors, the mainman described as being “Like a 21st Century Roy Wood” by his Bandits bandleader Duglas T Stewart.
