Charity collective The Indoor Mortal Orchestra release a single ‘You Give a Little Love’, via Glasgow’s Olive Grove Records.

The track – a version of a song from the Bugsy Malone film soundtrack – was produced in the space of 24 hours at the start of May.

However, the lead-up to the day’s recording followed weeks of preparation by a 17-strong collective of music professionals.

A mini-orchestra and array of vocalists were then put together, its 60+ members contributing parts from round the world to be assembled, mixed, edited & synched into the finalised song.

The releases sees BMX Bandits vocalist Duglas T. Stewart working alongside the likes of comedians Miles Jupp and Kevin Eldon and a variety of musicians including Will Calderbank (cellist with Mumford and Sons), vocalists Jen Schande and Danny Green, and Simon Love (of The Loves).

Inspired by comedian Mark Watson’s 24-hour Watsonathon on-line fundraising event, all profits are in aid of the charities FareShare (national network of charitable food redistributors), Hospice IGN (the professional association for UK Hospice fundraisers) & NextUp’s Heckle The Virus fund (supporting out-of-work circuit comedians).
