The Hector Collectors have returned with what is the band’s first ever full length studio album.

Containing recent single ‘Edgelords’, the 12 track ‘Remember the Hector Collectors? ..You wont believe what they sound like now!’ is available on Puzzled Aardvark Records, on vinyl or as a digital download.

The Motherwell-formed band first appeared on the Glasgow music scene in 2001 with their first home recorded album ‘Straight Outta Comprehensive’, acclaimed at the time by Radio One DK John Peel.

The group initially split up around 2004 following the ‘Dollification’ EP, as band members went off to pursue other projects, including The Just Joans, Danananakroyd, the Plimptons and Camera Obscura.

Since then the band have reformed sporadically for occasional gigs and recordings, but the new lineup has also see them write their first new material in almost a decade.

The current lineup of the band sees the Smiths joined up on drums by Gavin Dunbar (Camera Obscura), and bassist Joseph Greatorex (The Hussy’s, The Martial Arts, Colin’s Godson). The album also features guest appearances from members of How To Swim, The Paraffins and Gums!

The album was recorded in 2017 and 2018 in 16Ohm Studios with Tommy Duffin (except ‘Just Lovely’ and ‘Leeson Windfarm’, recorded in 2014 with James Duffin and remixed by Tommy in 2018).
