The Hector Collectors release an archive long-player, ‘The Boring Album’.

The 11-track collection consists of material from the mid ’00s but has been retroactively produced by Electroluvs supremo Billy Samson following initial work by The Martial Arts Paul Kelly as well as the Hectors themselves.

The album, featuring members from the ‘classic’ lineup era, is less the outfit’s usual frenetic style, instead having a “boringly ambient” feel, and comes from another trawl of the archives, following the re-release of live set ‘University Challenge’, and a recent expanded version of ‘Dollification‘.

The band have one of their regular reunification shows, supporting Sweeney Straddles The Sun, at Glasgow’s Stereo on February 9th.
