Glasgow quartet The Dunts release a single ‘Birds and the Beez’.
The self-dubbed “council-punk” band – Rab, Kyle, Div and Colin – formed in Glasgow around a year ago, part of a scene centred around Sauchiehall Street’s Priory Bar.
The new tune follows up their debut from Novemmber 2017, an EP entitled ‘Not Working Is Class’, produced by Johnny Madden (Baby Strange) and Chris Marshall (7 West Studios).
Of their production team, the band said: “The guys there are doing some amazing things with up and coming bands like ourselves, Rascalton and Pleasure Heads. They’ve shown us a path with our music and helped us with our vision, and there are bands like Lost In Stereo, Lucia and The Ninth Wave all killing it as well.”
They added: “The political landscape of the world is getting worse, working class people are getting shafted all over the place and we see ourselves as a vehicle for our fans to escape normality – we feel the same, we’re all in it together and the word is getting out – guitar music is coming back, and we have something to say.”
The band have live dates lined up:
23/05/2018 – Edinburgh – Sneaky Pete’s
24/05/2018 – Manchester – Night People
25/05/2018 – Sheffield – Café Totem
26/05/2018 – Newcastle – Head Of Steam
27/05/2018 – Glasgow – Fred Paton Day Care Centre (Rascalton E.P Launch)
