The Cosmic Dead release a new album, ‘Scottish Space Race’, on Riot Season Records.

The eighth long-player from the Glasgow psychedelic collective is the first to feature the drumming of Tommy Duffin (Headless Kross) and the lap-steel synth from Russell Andrew Gray (Girl Sweat) alongside long-time members Omar Aborida and James T Mckay.

Available on gatefold 2-LP / CD and mastered by John Mcbain (Monster Magnet, Wellwater Conspiracy), the release is comprised of four tracks – ‘Portal’, ‘Ursa Major’, ‘Scottish Space Race’ and ‘The Grizzard’.

The album was recorded live with Luigi Pasquini in the band’s Glasgow HQ during a run of late night festival appearances in the summer of 2018. It’s their first new material since 2017’s pair of EPs, ‘Psych Is Live’ and ‘Psych Is Dead’, as well as being the first release since line-up change saw Lewis Cook and Julian Dicken depart the band.

The band play Glasgow’s The Space on October 13th. More at cosmicdead.com
