The Black Denims release their debut single, ‘You Weren’t There’, via Jelly Roll Records.

Backed with ‘Only Call You When I’m Lonely (And I’m Lonely All The Time)’, the single is available to stream or download.

The seven-piece band are founded and fronted by Scott McPherson, formerly of Tom McGuire & the Brassholes/The Bar Dogs.

McPherson is joined by bassist Iain Gordon-Smith on the bass, Gavin Lamont (The Hoojamamas) on drums/percussion, Tim Brough (also a former Brasshole) on keys, Timmy Allen (of Awkward Family Portraits) on mandolin and guitar, violinist Roo Gedes (also of Awkward Family Portraits), The Vintage Explosion’s Conor Smith on pedal steel, and Harry (The Hazard) Weir on tenor sax.

The band have evolved over the years from being a two-piece psychobilly blues-punk band to their now seven-piece rock ’n’ roll form.
