Stuart Spence releases a single ‘Yellow Leather’, on Jamhut Records.

The first track to come from his debut EP ‘Home’, the track will be available on various digital services including Bandcamp.

‘Yellow Leather’ was composed, arranged and recorded by Spence at his home studio The Drum Lounge, with the EP to be completed by three further tracks which are currently in the works.

The track also features uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes) by Faliq Auri and violin by Perrine Misseme.

From Irvine, Spence is primarily a percussionist, who currently teaches at Yamaha and The Drum Lounge as well as teaching bodhran at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

He has been active on the Scottish music scene for over 15 years playing major music festivals like T in The Park, Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, Rockness, and Wickerman, as well as international festivals such as the Rotterdam Art Music Festival.

Among the acts he has worked with are the likes of East 17, Girls Aloud, Jason Donovan, InMe, Fighting With Wire, Busted, Span, Kula Shaker, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Frightened Rabbit and Sucioperro

Spence was also the house drummer for the annual Miss Scotland event and has done various work for charity foundations such as Ronald McDonald and MacMillian Cancer Support, and was also the drummer for the house band on the BBC Hogmanay show and featured with Roddy Hart and the Lonesome Fire.
