Starry Skies release a new single, ‘I Want You To Know’, on Fox Star Records.

Available, it follows up ‘Here Comes the Moon’, released in June.

The track from the Glasgow-based sextet – Warren McIntyre (vocals & guitar), Heather Phillip (vocals & violin), Jen Lunan (vocals & cello) Adam Scott (bass & piano), Johnny Rooney (guitar) and Sophie Pragnell (viola , vocals & percussion) – acts as a taster for their next long-player

‘Do It With Love’ – the follow up to 2018’s ‘Be Kind’ – has no exact release date, the band sadly unable to fully promote the singles having been forced to cancel 14 gigs and various other promotional activities.

The band say they are particularly looking forward to being able to promote the new material in the US, as ‘Be Kind’ gathered considerable support there – including at New York’s legendary WMFU radio station, where nine different DJ played tracks from the album.

‘I Want You To Know’ also acts as a tribute to bandmate and friend, drummer Ian Stoddart, who passed away earlier in the year.

Described by Starry Skies frontman Warren McIntyre as “one of the best drummers in Scotland, and loved by many,” ‘Stoddy’ worked with a wide range of Scottish acts – a founding member of Aberfeldy, he was also in ’90s indie-dance combo The Apples, post-Fire Engines act Win, and played in the house band in the movie Chocolat with Johnny Depp.

“In keeping with his love of pop music, the new single is upbeat, positive and all about love and friendship,” McIntyre adds.
