Our gig recommendations basically list stuff that we’re likely to go and see. This week it looks like three trips in a row this weekend…

Maybeshewill play Glasgow’s Stereo on Thurs 19th. The Leicester instrumental act may be responsible for one of the albums of the year (well, in the Enfglish Midlands post-rock category, anyway).

Friday sees punk legend TV Smith play in Perth, at Mucky Mulligans. Famous for being frontman for The Adverts, he has reinvented himself as an acoustic troubador. Not sure if he’ll play ‘Gary Gilmore’s Eyes’, but such is the quality of his back catalogue that it’ll not be missed.

And Saturday it’s Glasgow again. Stag and Dagger sees a shedload of acts from both Scotland and the world appear. Clinic, Warpaint and Admiral Fallow are on just one bill, at the ABC, but for the intrepid gig-goer there are seven more venues with around 40 more acts including Sons and Daughters, Happy Particles She’s Hit, Victorian English Gentlemans Club, Kurt Vile, The Scottish Enlightenment, Yuck and Kurt Vile among them.
