A bit of a gig frenzy this week – kicked off (for us, anyway) by Copy Haho, who play Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s on Tuesday 18th

Sons and Daughters take their JD Twitch-produced album Mirror Mirror on tour (don’t think they have Twitch himself on the bus, however), and they hit Aberdeen Tunnels on Wednesday 19th. The Dundee gig at Fat Sams the night afterwards, is, however, off…

French Wives similarly have a new release to plug, and also hit the north (east), taking in (rather inconveniently for fans of both bands) Aberdeen Drummonds on the 19th. They then have a home launch at Mono in Glasgow on Thursday the 20th with support from Blochestra and Endor,

Meanwhile, The Dykeenies line up against S&D in Dundee on the 20th, with a show at the Doghouse.

Back down in the central belt, The Travelling Band come to town – Edinburgh’s Electric Circus, on Thursday 20th.
On the same night, the remarkable vocal sounds of Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares, at the Usher Hall.

And on the Friday, it’s Oxjam Edinburgh. Endor, Esperi, French Wives, Meursault, Sebastian Dangerfield, Trapped In Kansas, Verse Metrics and Yahweh. Um, it’s actually Oxjam Ayr, Dundee, Inveraray, Paisley , Aberdeen, and Glasgow as well, but we’d typed this but up before we got the full details.

Glasgow’s turn for some impressive vocal performances, on Sat 22nd – Zuba , always worth a listen anyway, have Glasgow Gospel Choir in attendance for their show at Stereo.

Or, up the road at the 02, Ash, with their Free All Angels Tour. (I’d prefer them doing Trailer, but there you go).

Finally, on Sunday 23rd, at Glasgow’s Arches, former Ultravox! frontman John Foxx – you may have thought he’d long-since retired, but no, he’s released THREE albums this year – including The Shape of Things with new backing band and The Maths.
