Shhe releases a new single, ‘Boy’, via One Little Indian Records.

The alter-ego of Scottish-Portuguese artist and producer Su Shaw, Shhe signed with the London-based label following one single ‘Eyes Shut’, although she has been a familiar face on the Scottish scene previously under the Panda Su moniker.

“Sometimes we’re unwilling to let go and sometimes we’re unable to. Willingness and ability are different things.
“How do you give yourself completely to someone when parts of you still remain with someone else? How much of your identity do you lose in the process?” she says of the track.

Shaw worked with Robin Sutherland, who has previously recorded the likes of the Hazey Janes, and the single, available in a limited edition of 500 7” black vinyl copies, was engineered by Heba Kadry.

The accompanying video, filmed in a Fife’s Tentsmuir forest, features members of the Scottish Dance Theatre. Shaw lived in Fife for several years though she has most recently been based in Iceland, working on ‘Dýrafjörður’ – a Creative Scotland-backed live multi-sensory project combining sound, moving image and visual art in the Westfjords.

Shhe has also been supporting Kathryn Joseph, with a couple of dates left on their tour together:
Fri 1st Mar – UK, Glasgow – GU Debating Chamber
Sun 3rd Mar – UK, Aberdeen – The Lemon Tree
