Shaun McLachlan releases a new single, ‘When We Dance’, on the Triptych Wave label.
It’s the first solo output and the first foray into songwriting for the multi-instrumentalist better known as the percussionist for Edinburgh band Delta Mainline.
Available to download, the track was written and recorded in Musselburgh during lockdown with the help of long-term friend and musician Gavin King.
Guest appearances come from Ian Sloan (The Wynntown Marshals) on pedal steel, Andrew Taylor (Dropkick) on percussion, David McLachlan (Delta Mainline) on guitar, Bruce Michie on brass, Pippa Reid-Foster, on harp, and Reuben Taylor (Mersault) on accordion, all recorded separately from their own homes.
Mixing and mastering were performed by David Mccaulay (From Scotland with Love) and Simon Scott (Slowdive) respectively.
All proceeds from the digital download will be donated to the Scottish Association for Mental Health.
McLachlan’s ‘regular’ band have released two albums to date – ‘Oh! Enlightened‘ in 2013 followed by ‘Bel Avenir‘ in 2019), and are currently working on their third long-player,
