Shambolics release a new single, ‘Sandra Speed’ via Creation 23 – the label set up by former Creation Records founder (and, apparently, the man who signed Oasis), Alan McGee.
The digital-only single from the Fife four-piece – Lewis McDonald, Darren Forbes, Jordan McHatton, and Jake Bain – follows up the debut, ‘Chasing A Disaster’, which sold out its 7” vinyl run.
Previously under a slightly different lineup, the Electric Honey label put out ‘Love Collides’ which was followed by ‘My Time Is Now‘.
The band signed to the reborn Creation imprint in the summer of 2019, whereupon McGee described them as “one of the great Scottish bands”. They have band have since played with The Sherlocks & The View, as well as appearing at a variety of festivals including Isle of Wight Festival, Tramlines, Reading&Leeds and Truck Festival
Of the new song, frontman Darren Forbes says: “I wrote the song in our studio staring out the window and seeing the very thing happen right outside,” reflects . “The song is about a vulnerable girl who has mingled with the wrong crowd and lost herself.”
