Seil Lien releases ‘Shatter’ via CarbFace Records.

The brainchild of Marie-Claire Lee, the album’s eight tracks include new single ‘It’s Love That Brought You Here’, and are available to stream or download as well as on and CD.

As well as Lee, the album features bassist Gerry Gregory, who also engineered the recordings, and Glaswegian guitarist Dave Cook, while drums are handled by Scottish-Icelandic percussionist Signy Jakobsdottir.

The album is produced by Rico Capuano – the Glasgow act who worked with Gary Numan in the 1990s on ‘Crazier’ as well as collaborating with Tricky.

Lee previously received some attention when – via the publishing arm of Ninja Tune – her song ‘A Little While More’, from the 2018 EP of the same name, was synced in a series of Boots ‘Inspirational Women’ campaign advertisements.

She also depped for Shirley Manson last year on the 30th anniversary reformation of Goodbye Mr Mackenzie, celebrating the release of the album ‘Good Deeds and Dirty Rags’.

On the new record, which took three years to make Lee says: “Rico had once said to me years before when I was struggling with what to do about the consequences of working more commercially. He said, “Everyone gets spat out the other side. The most important thing is that you can live with the music you put out into the world. That you can look back and be proud of whatever happens.”
