Scientific Support Dept. release their first new material in several years with a single, ‘Stuttered’.

Available as a download, it sees longtime mainman of the Glasgow-based act, Docherty, emerge following a hiatus which saw him work, briefly, as The Wayne Devro Set.

Previously Docherty has worked under the Serf banner (with members of Babygod) and was a member of Adventures in Stereo, as well as Docken Leaf (with Ken McCluskey of The Bluebells), who will have new material surfacing in the summer.

However, it’s recording under the Scientific Support banner that he is best-known for, with several EPs and singles for Creeping Bent, as well as album including ‘Cabbageneck‘, which was reissued in 2014.

Also made available now for the first time are five tracks composed for the Icelandic feature film ‘A Reykjavik Porno’, directed by Graeme Maley and released in 2016.

That is the first in a planned series of past works from film & theatre, as well as collaborations and remixes from the last decade to be released in batches over the coming months and available via Bandcamp to stream and free to download/pay what you want.

A video for ‘Stuttered’ will be premiered on isthismusic.com on Thursday February 25th at 1pm GMT.
