Jo Schornikow of The Shivers follows up her band’s recent releaseon Fence records with UK dates alongside fellow New Yorker Scott Rudd (I say New Yorker, the duo are actually of Australian and Canadian descent)
Anyway, they play the Away Game Festival July 20-22 – on the Isle of Eigg along with labelmates The Pictish Trail and King Creosote, plus Gruff Rhys, Django Django, Jon Hopkins, Euros Childs, Slow Club, Meursault, François & The Atlas Mountains, Sparrow & The Workshop, Kid Canaveral, OLO Worms, The Twilight Sad (acoustic), Rob St John, Randolph’s Leap, Over The Wall, Quickbeam and Eagleowl, – as well as a bunch I snipped to save on space (sorry) and to entice you to the Fence website (there’s a new Pictish Trail vid there as well)
Schornikow and Rudd also play at the Captain’s Rest on July 18th, as guests of Mitchell Museum, a show put on by Peenko.
Recently-reformed Bis play at Mono in Glasgow on Thurs July 19, as a warm-up for the festival weekend. Support is from We Are they Physics. Manda Rin’s artwork is on dusplay in the cafe part of the venue and doors are at 7pm in case you fancy a browse…
Fatherson play a free (18+) secret show in Glasgow on Thursday 19 July. Note: they taking the stage at midnight and it’s a school night…

The Little Mill of Happiness play their first headline show in Glasgow, at the Captains Rest on Thursday July 19th. The Inverness band consiste of members of Highland acts such as Shutter, Low Tide Revelry and The Lush Rollers. Support comes from Analogue of the Sun and Sleeping Machines.
Sunday 22nd sees Churches – the supergroup… ok, read about them here – support School of Seven Bells at Stereo.
And finally, it’s Wicker Weekend. Friday and Saturday sees the likes of Scissor Sisters and Bad Manners mix with the usual sterling lineup in the Solus Tent which boasts among others, Conquering Animal Sound, Found, Midnight Lion, Mitchell Museum, Panda Su, There Will Be Fireworks, United Fruit and Withered Hand.
