Savage Mansion aka Glasgow-based guitar pop slacker Craig Angus – release a single, ‘Elwood’, on the Lost Map label.
The Postmap postcard download, is taken for the forthcoming album ‘Revision Ballads’, due for release on the same label on February 15th.
Angus, originally a member of Perth trio Poor Things, made his debut for Lost Map with a double A-side PostMap single in 2017 – ‘Do You Say Hello To Your Neighbours? / ‘Honeymoon’. It was followed in May 2018 by the Document EP, which was released as a limited-edition Lost Cat cassette.
He also plays guitar with Martha Ffion, whose single ‘No Applause’ / ‘Lead Balloon’ was released via Lost Map in 2015, and is part of a new project, the Underachievers’ Club – a new collective formed with Siobhan Ma of the Glasgow band Happy Spendy.
Underachievers’ Club can be seen live at an all-dayer at Glasgow’s Glad Cafe on January 19th, as part of Celtic Connections, alongside various labelmates including The Spook School, Rozi Plain, Callum Easter and Hairband.
The Savage Mansion live band elsewhere features a revolving cast of musicians that typically includes Lewis Orr on drums and Andrew McPherson and Jamie Dubber from Catholic Action on second guitar and bass.
