Rudebeard release a new EP, ‘Wideos On The Rise’.
On F&J Records, and available to stream or download, the six tracks – “a really generous e.p, or a snidey mini-album” – mark the occasion of the first anniversary of the band’s formation.
The band also helpfully point out that the pronunciation of the EPO’s titles is “‘Wideos’ as in ‘wide-ohs’ … not like Mr Chekhov from Star Trek mispronouncing ‘videos’ as ‘wideos’.”
Featuring ‘Live A Bit’, ‘Thrown Away’, ‘You Can’t Trust …’, ‘For Your War’, ‘Hey Mrs Jones’ and ‘Hold Your Head Up’, the new release follows up the band’s debut EP 2019’s ‘Smell Yer Ska’ from summer 2019.
The septet consist of Rod Drysdale, Ali Hendry, Becky Verdon, Graeme Mearns, John MacFarlane, Gordy Davidson and Adam Lawson, and are drawn from various ska and punk acts such as the Amphetameanies, Capone and the Bullets, Newtown Grunts, Joe Viterbo, Bulky Matron and, er, Randolph’s Leap.
Next show for Rudebeard is at Glasgow’s Nice n Sleazy on February 15th
