Robin Miller releases his debut solo single ‘Catriona’s Butterfly Wish’, via the Fox Star label.
Available as a lossless WAV / MP3 download, it’s the first track to be taken from forthcoming debut long-player ‘Beelines’, due for release later this summer.
The single, like the rest of the album was recorded in a single afternoon session with no overdubs.
South Uist-born Miller grew up in a remote part of the Hebridean island of Islay.
“Half the island would go to the monthly cattle auctions,” he recalls, “these started off with livestock, moved onto furniture, and finished with the auctioning of smaller second hand goods like records – this is how I first heard Bert Jansch and Nick Drake”
Moving to Glasgow in his late teens, Robin busked at night loving the “sound of the guitar bouncing off the buildings and empty streets” and played with folk bands eventually touring in France and Italy as a session player.
